Lake Balaton, Hungary. Summer Destination
Yesterday we looked at Hungary’s party capital Siófok on the south shore of the Balaton. Today we are crossing over to the other side and will look at another equally fabulous place to visit when you come and see the beautiful Balaton.
Balatonfüred on the North Shore
With its two large marinas and deeper waters ideal for sailing, Balatonfüred is understandably popular with the yachting community as well as general holiday makers and tourists.
The unofficial capital of the northern shore it is both an elegant and attractive town that is surrounded by lush green hilly countryside and places nearby seriously worth exploring.
Considered by some as a slightly more ‘genteel’ place than Siófok its ‘party-on’ neighbour across the water, it nevertheless is still chock full of fabulous beaches, bars, restaurants and night clubs along with all the other key facilities you would expect in a major holiday spa town that all add up to make it an absolutely perfect place to come and have a simply great time. Guaranteed!
