Yes you read it right. Hi all I'm Peter. I Work as a TV host on a travel / adventure show called " Ride With Me " People who follow the show calls me Peter Jo ( cause there are 2 of us named Peter... long story trust me, ok back to the post... ) First of all I'm truly blessed to have a job where I get to travel, ride various motorcycles and enjoy these amazing destinations. Im here, cause I feel like I want to share my experiences, with like minded travel enthusiasts, and people who like to ride amazing motorcycles.
This is actually my first post ever so please bear with me.
Ok you must all be confused with the title, but that is actually what this amazing unseen cliff in the Isaan region of Thailand is called. The 3 Whale rock is as of now a new and unseen tourist attraction that has recently been opened to the public.
This entire mountain is called Pu ( Mountain ) Singh ( Lion )... yea i know, but nevertheless this mountain has so much history to it. Ill stick with the Whales for this story, but as a little teaser there is also a train rock and a cave where hundreds of Thai communist fighters used to hide and fight with the Thai government when the communist ideology was spreading throughout South East Asia as a wildfire *dramatic pause.
Back to my whales!!! If you look closely the Thais describe the far right rock as the Father Whale, The middle one is the Mother Whale and to the far left the small one is the baby whale. While we were there the bamboo trees were covering up little baby whale.
This place is open to the public every day of the year, BUT there are a few warnings i must give you!
If you want to go to this beautiful unseen destination, there are officials there to help you. There are locals with pickups who can take you to the different places on this magnificent mountain. This is a small income for locals also they know the way so you dont get lost.
Even if it seems tempting the officials wont allow you to sleep on the mountain. This is a safety measure for you. (Apparently there are wild animals and KING COBRAS in the forest!!! (But dont worry there arent any at the sightseeing points, cause they tend to stay away). However there is a camping site at the bottom of the mountain, where the office is, where you can rent tents, but food/snacks and bathrooms with shower options.
NO SAFETY RAILS! If you decide to walk to the edge of these rocks please please please be careful. The day we were there shooting Ride With Me, the wind was really strong and pushed and pulled from all directions! Since its a Mountain side i guess the wind gets hurled in all directions, so for safety reasons we were all told to sit down. The day prior our camera team went there to scout the location, and luckily the wind wasn't strong which lead to these amazing photos...
There are still more amazing destinations from this trip i was on and i will try and keep making posts in the future.
Thank you for reading this and feel free to comment and share...
Oh yea btw i promised the officials there that I would tell everyone that they have this volunteering program to plant trees, and help cut grass/weed so the new trees can grow as well. Its a great initiative to preserve nature which is a small step in right direction. There, done, kept my promise!
