I do 😜. Goa is best known as the party capital of India. This smallest state of India is one of the most happening places on earth and people from all parts of the world visit this fun loving state that has the best beaches you can find. The state was under the rule of Portuguese for a very long time and you can see and feel the connection with Portuguese once you step in. The churches and other important buildings here have Portuguese inspired designs.
Goa is also famed for it's cheap alcohol. People visit Goa to get high and enjoy.

If you are wondering that I was kidding when I said I am going to Goa on a pilgrimage then no. I am actually travelling to Goa to visit my family diety and I do so almost every year. Not many know that Goa has an unending list of old temples that belong to the Konkani speaking crowd that are scattered around Goa, Karnataka and Kerala.
It is said that during all konkani's were residents of Goa and during the Portuguese rule over Goa, they had to descend to other parts of the country to evade being converted to Christianity and also in search of better opportunities. Every Konkani family follows one diety and the diety is referred to as Kuladevata.
I and my husband both belong to the family that follows Shantha Durga and Vijaya Durga dieties. The temples are located on the outskirts of the city and the surrounding beauty is serene.
I will be travelling to Goa tomorrow and will be staying around these temples for 3 days. Last time I visited there there was absolutely no connectivity to the outside world. Yes, no internet and no phone. I hope things have changed this year.
Wish me happy travel :)
