Have you ever traveled to deep dark forests? Have you hiked a trail to discover the beauty of nature? Have you walked along a freshwater stream, washed your face, and felt the freshness?
I remember walking along a stream with my college mates when we went for a one-day trip with our professor to Boothathankettu dam locality near our district. It was so magical and refreshing. I wish I had kept the photos taken by us that day. Unfortunately, I lost it sometime over the years.
We walked along the stream, entered the forest, and jumped across small pits, and entered an open area where we could walk along the river Periyar. There were small rocks and we jumped across on even took photos while standing on those rocks. There was no rain, so it was not slippery. Now when I think about it, the very idea of jumping on rocks seems so risky but we were then very young and just finishing the teenage. So, everything seemed possible and there was no anxiety at all.
Anyway, all those memories bring back a longing to go on such a trip again. I have read many blogs on Hive where people describe their hikes and walk through such forests and describe the beauty of the natural surroundings.
Have you written a post on Hive describing a walk through a forest? Did you like your experience and want to do it again?
Despite all this, always take precautionary measures and be careful while walking through the forests because there could be dangers lurking in every corner. Always have a first aid kit, a long stick, or some sort of knife or weapon, and emergency supplies including candles, matches, a satellite phone, a torch, some snacks, and of course water too.
Never go alone if you can help it. Also, inform your close family members and friends of your trip even if it is a small walk.
