Last April we went camping here by the banks of the beautiful water holes just outside of Maryborough QLD Australia. The road going here is an unsealed graded road and is very rough. I took a caravan down it and had to go 5km per hour, lucky my vans old and now is retired. Would not recommend taking caravans unless road conditions get better.
One of the cleanest state forests I've been to in QLD. It had so many beautiful trees like paperbarks, gum-trees, Kauri, hoop and bunya pine. We spent most of our meals under these tree's. Peace so peaceful.
We had the whole park to ourselves, no one was around the whole time we were there except for the rangers. Two very lovely ladies who done their job well, keeping the park pristine.
Camping must be paid for online before you arrive, park is regularly checked by the rangers. This picture should only be a reference as you can see how old it is, but so cheap and better than a 5 star hotel. You can't pay for views like this.
The only downfall was no walking tracks. There is a dam for fishing down the road but you need a permit, they are pretty cheap too. I went there with a mate one time and just put him on my permit as my partner. Money saved : )
Toilet's are not real flash but there clean and they flush. Which is better than the old drop toilet infested with dunny budgies.
Showers are cold water only so i would recommend you sort something else out. We took solar showers and hung them in the shower. Plenty of water is available, but it is not drinkable.
Fires are not allowed so bring your cooking stove with plenty of fuel. We had a charcoal BBQ at night because it's not camping without a fire, you have to have somewhere to roast marshmallows.
Swimming was cold, deep and a bit too dark to see. Not advisable for poor swimmers. Me and the boys where jumping from a tree and only then we would just touch the bottom, sandy surprisingly.
