At first glance, it painted pictures. But, actually, these places exist in realityColored rocks Zhangye, Danxia (Zhangye Danxia Landform)— colorful rock formations Geological Park in Gansu province, China. These rock formations — a unique type of petrographic geomorphology which can only be found in China. Colored rocks consist of red sandstones and conglomerates mainly from the Cretaceous period.
The study shows that approximately 100 million years ago, there was a huge indoor swimming pool. Water carried here from the surrounding silt. As a result of global high temperatures the basin dried up and in these arid conditions the sediment oxidized and adopted the color of rust.
Services for tourists
For the convenience of tourists coming to see this natural phenomenon, there is a comfortable path, provided with a safe observation deck, which offers wonderful views. The mountain in all its glory brought to you at sunset and they need to look in the right place where you can take a bus through the Park.
How to get
There are several ways to get to Changzhou:
a direct train from Beijing and other Chinese cities to Zhangye
train: from the city of Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, which you can reach by plane
plane: the airport is 13 kilometers away from the city. There arrive flights from different Chinese cities
bus: intercity buses operate flights from cities of China in Zhangye
