We spent the day down in Coconut Grove, a trendy hangout South of Miami.
During the day we went to lunch at Peacock Garden Cafe (AWESOME Place with Great Food), we walked along the bay by the boating club, and attempted to get over to see the Barnacle House (The oldest house in Miami-Dade County built in 1891). Unfortunately that was closed, but we will go back there in a month or so.
We did pass by something I never thought I'd see in South Florida... a mini book exchange in a cute little wood box cabinet along the sidewalk near the historic Barnacle House site. The box was completely unlocked and open to the public to freely take a book in exchange for putting one in its place.
As we stopped to check it out and see what books were inside, I took a few pictures which caught the attention of other people walking by who stopped to see what was so interesting. Amazingly enough most of the people had no idea this was even there, saying they never noticed it even though they said they walk down that sidewalk many times a week. The discussion quickly spread to more and more people walking by as we moved on.
It was funny to realize we started a huge discussion up and down the local street about the "Little Free Library" box completely by accident.
There it was, proof that the honor system still exists!
