Spain, 2019
Days before travelling into the Pyrenees, my friend from India tried to join us on this trip too. Sadly, we had to realise that there was no bus and train connecting to reach Madrid on time before leaving Spain. So he stayed back home in Zaragoza and he became aware what he is missing out after we called him during our first break, informing him about that he needs to change the time to wintertime. We reached the end of the old station in Canfranc, becoming conscious of how cold it was, but we were professionally prepared. Once we got out of the station we went into the info building to inform ourselves about the tracks in this region. After filling the water backups for cooking and drinking water, we decided to take the hike to Canal Roya y Anayet and after up to the glacier lakes ibones de anayet up in 2500 meter. What After the first 3 km and finishing our first brake and breakfast we started to gain height meters. Not many people were around, we only took small breaks to drink and finished the day hiking at 16:00 o’clock. After the sun disappeared it turned really cold, in the night we had -3 to -4 degrees, so we build our tent and started cooking. It’s a challenge to climb mountains but much more to eat the spicy food we cooked. In the evening we just walked around a little bit and went sleep before it was dark. Above us, the night was one of the darkest nights I have ever seen, no moon but with amazing shimmering stars. In the morning we made our way to the lakes, had breakfast and went back to our camp, packed everything and went down to the village. On our way back, we could see a lot of wild animals and the colours of the trees from the day before turned into magical autumn colours. It was a magnificent time!
