Firstly, I am a big fan of Canadian Rye Whiskey. I am no longer a frequent drinker though. I sent the photo of the Canadian Club cost to my brother in Canada, and he was shocked that a Canadian alcohol would actually be cheaper to purchase in Japan compared to Canada.
With a total cost of 1,480 yen (about 13.47USD, 17,42CND, 707PHP) for a 700ml bottle, that is darn cheap! Canada is about double that, and it shows you that alcohol has low tax in Japan and high tax in other countries.
Same goes for bourbon;
The cost of Jack Daniels is 868 yen (7.90USD, 10,21CND, 415PHP), for a 200ml bottle. Personally, the Canadian Club is much nicer stuff. But either bottle is much cheaper than other countries!
