Sai Rung Waterfalls is an amazing multi-tier waterfall in Trang, Thailand. The translation to English is Rainbow Waterfall, giving it a magical essence by name. This has been on my top adventures list but came up short because on the typhoons of southern Thailand. As we arrived at the first level tier and base with the family, the dark gray storm clouds began to accumulate. I knew the next few tiers were a few kilometers in total, but with the typhoon coming, I couldn't leave the elders.
The first tier is still amazing and perfect for families. The pool isn't deep and the rocks aren't too slippery. The fish are friendly and they swim with you making magical naturistic memories. At first, I thought the fish were the skin eating ones like the fish spas until me great nephew threw in some Cheetos. They all fought for those Cheetos like they were Chester themselves.
Supplying this pool is a mini 5ft. waterfall that sits under a gigantic rock formation consisting of two huge boulders.
They naturally touch each other in a way that makes a cave-like structure and over time & erosion, has steps to the top, eroded into the rocks.
As I was making my way to the top of the rocks, my family pointed out that it was about to pour down rain so I quickly jumped in the pool and play with the fish alongside my great nephew. The quick dip in the waters was awesome and we barely made it back to our SUV before it indeed, poured rain down thunderously. We drove back laughing about how great and magical the waters felt at Rainbow Waterfalls.
