Where Salvador Dali imitated nature, or at least this is what I felt right here:
Today let's hike together into one of the most wonderful tracks I have done until now.
I wandered a bit around in the library of my computer to come up with so many pictures of Theth, Albania. Could not decide which ones were the best, so as you will see while you scroll down the post is crowded with pictures!
As you can understand from the altitude of the location where this picture is taken from, the area is almost isolated by snow during the winter.
Theth is located in the very north of the Albanian territory, more precisely in the region of Shale. From Tirana to the village it takes you almost six hours and it is a totally worth trip.
Me and my polish friend Margo, a writer spending her last two years in Albania, decided to take a weekend and explore the area.
This is me showing my happiness when we finally reached the so- called "Blue Eye" of Thethi.
As soon as we arrived we decided to do the Blue Eye as we have heard so much about it!
Not only the final destination was waaaaa!!!, but also the hike up to the little waterfall was as it came from another world!
And when we finally got there, this is what we found:
As you can see from the picture, I was feeling a bit exhausted. This was not because of the 3 hour hike. It was pure untouched nature reaching right into my brain and throwing all my thoughts away. In every post I have been sharing something personal with you. Well, in this one I want to put out there how important and recreational nature is for me. I have this awesomely strong connection with nature. If you make me walk for hours into a wild forest you will see in my face how more and more relaxed I become while time passes by. It is actually, the only way to stop my brain and my unconscious self thinking. And as a girl... I do overanalyze a lot. So, nature for me is equal to a braingasm mostly!
This is my 2nd day after we had reached the main waterfall of Theth.
The way to the waterfall look meeeh... you can see by yourselves:
And this is my friend Margo, getting some fresh iced water from mother Nature!
This area of Albania shares a lot of legends regarding fairies dancing at night in exactly these kind of landscapes. I wonder why...!!
Some perks of the hike were also the fresh fruits we picked on our way to the waterfall :)
We were so happy to find them on our way!
And finally the destination:
That was it for tonight Steemers!
Until next time, keep on exploring :)
