A pair of skis are the ultimate transportation to freedom. - Warren Miller
...and a new snow jacket is a guaranteed way to happiness :-)
Let's face it: I'm a classic event shopper who finds pleasure in buying new stuff occasionally. Now that my winter sports vacations are coming closer, I thought it could be nice purchasing a new snow jacket.
Today it finally arrived.
Here's how my catch of the day looks like! 🎿
How to make her happy in 30 seconds? :-)
A marketing victim in all ranks!
I really admit that I have a soft spot for brands.
Probably that is partly due to my professional background: I've been working in marketing for almost 12 years. During 1.5 years I was even Head of Product Management in Condé Nast's online sales department, being responsible for the advertisement of their fashion brands GQ and VOGUE.
That period of time has definitely shaped my fascination for fashion.
I love to express my lifestyle - my passion for (extreme) sports and outdoors - through labels and designs. Or as the famous designer Marc Jabobs said once:
To me, clothing is a form of self-expression. There are hints about who you are in what you wear.
Lucky me, my favourite surf brand Roxy™ has launched a product line for winter clothing!

In less than 4 weeks I'll be rocking the glacier in Switzerland! ❄️
After four years without any snow experience it's time to go on a trip to the Swiss mountains.
As I describes in my blog post Take Your Childhood Ambitions Seriously, with this trip a dream will come true. These are going to be quite luxurious holidays since I'll be staying at the best five star hotel of the spot.
Besides the snow action I really look forward to an extraordinarily comfortable stay, I'll definitely remember forever. Now you understand my urgent need for a presentable outfit :-)
I opted for the Roxy™ Torah Bright Stormfall Jacket - may the Australian snowboard superstar Torah provide me with lots of powder and fun..!

A huge snow park with 150km of pistes is waiting for me!
We're going to aim high: The village Saas-Fee where I'll be staying, is already located 1,800m above sea level.
13 four thousand meter peaks surround the glacier village which is also know as "The pearl of the Alps." Twenty-two railways lead to the 150km of ski and snowboard pistes, including the well-known Alpine Metro, which takes passengers to the world's highest revolving restaurant.
Now I really can't wait to start my snowy vacations!
Watch Jesper Tjäder's massive GoPro shots from the local freestyle snowpark to get an idea of the ambient that's expecting me there!
I'm ready to rock - are you? :-)
Stay tuned for lots of cool pictures and videos from The Pearl of the Alps!
Best,
Marly -
Thanks for your valuable time!
