It's winter. The weather outside is cold and the colours are faded, some people get depressed at these circumstances. If you can't afford a holiday in a tropic warm country, I've got an advice for you: Visit your local botanical garden. I want to introduce you the botanical garden of Berlin today.
You have to know: I'm a huge plantlover. So when I visited Berlin some time ago, I've got the urgent desire to see the botanical garden. It has a huge terrain, in the summertime you can sit in the outdoor area like in a park and just relax, but my interest was in the greenhouses.
There were 15 different greenhouses, each one has its own topic. Every climate on the continent has its own house, but there were also special houses for exemple one just for orchids or one just for cacti. The arrangements were lovely as you can see on the pictures, you really felt like you were in a jungle. It even got waterfalls and little qails, which are hiding between the plants.
I used the awesome variety of plants to get inspired which ones I maybe want to have at home. I took pictures of them and of their botanical names to search for them and their requirements on the internet.
It was a wonderful day and the admission wasn't expansive (about 3€ for students), you can visit some other botanical gardens even for free. Maybe I could inspire you to go and see your public greenhouses.
