Chanthaburi is a province in the East of Thailand. Even though it's a small province, it has many interesting places; i.e. sea sight, waterfall, beautiful church, etc. Today, I would like to present to you the “Old Town Chanthaboon Waterfront” which is an interesting area that you may want to visit.
Chanthaboon is the old name of Chanthaburi province. (“Chan” means Moon, “buri” means city, Chanthaburi means the city of moon or moon city.) It’s an old town approx. 300 years old.
The area is not large, but strolling around is enjoyable. There are many interesting things to see and various kinds of delicious local street foods to eat.
Most of the old houses are waterfront. Some of them are lovely teak-wooden houses and have wonderful architecture indeed.
You can walk along the street to experience local life as well.
The art walls of some houses are amazing and interesting.
They can well tell the way of life of the people who live there.
You may love to spend your time admiring the riverfront that is quiet and has relaxing atmosphere.
Most of the local people are fishermen. You will see their boats floating. They look fascinating with wonderful clouds in the background.
Very interesting place, right? ;)
