Wat Phra Chedi Sao Lang is situated in Chiang Mai province, in the North of Thailand.
Wat means temple
Phra Chedi means pagoda
Sao (the northern Thai language) means twenty
Lang in this case means the unit of the pagoda
The name of Wat Phra Chedi Sao Lang means the temple that has 20 pagodas.
These chedis have small shapes and the architecture of each chedi is in Lanna and Myanmar style. All of the chedis have golden color with beautiful decorations on the top.
It is believed that each chedi contains the Buddha hair relic. That’s why people visit this temple to worship these chedis.
The sculptures around the chedis are amazing.
Apart from these chedis, Viharn in this temple is also attractive with magnificent design.
The Buddha statue in the Viharn is beautiful and sacred.
In front of the Buddha statue, you may notice a blue sign with special wordings in the Thai language. These are for people to pray and ask the Buddha statue for blessings. (this is our belief.)
This temple has a peaceful atmosphere and is good for relaxing.
I would recommend you to visit there if you travel to Lampang province.
