Towards the end of last year I was travelling through S.E Asia and decided to do something pretty unique.
Different to your typical go to a tropical island and get drunk or go volunteer and help a local community (Although I also did both of those things).
I decided to go to what for me is the middle of nowhere and go trekking through the rainforest to see some Orangutans.
That red point is where I went. It was pretty far out of the way. 6 hour drive from the nearest airport along some sketchy roads and a minivan that had holes in the floor and felt like it would break, at any second.
But after all of this hassle, including a whole day of trekking through the rainforest with my legs feeling like they were going to explode I came across some Orangutans and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my whole trip in Asia.
