I have now been in Medellin, Colombia for three days and I have a strong inclination that my title is probably wrong from a grammar aspect. Well, I am still learning and studying along the best I can. However, I did have the opportunity this morning to head out with some new friends I have made at the school that I am attending and went to explore a part of the city in order to get a nice view of Medellin and see some street art along the way.
I hope to see and experience more over the next month whilst here in Medellin and I promise to post more once I explore the region more extensively. Basically, I got off my 24 hour journey to Medellin from Vancouver Island, took a cab to Él Poblado, which took about an hour, walked into the hostel/Espańol school and went straight into a private lesson. Saying I was a little tired is quite an underestimate... Lots of lessons, as well as meeting and talking to people/fellow students from all around the world has filled my last few days in this new city.
Now, no doubt there are areas in Medellin that aren't exactly safe for tourists but the area I am staying in Él Poblado is kind of the main safe tourist area to be in. There is lots of amazing restaurants, cafes and bars to check out and quite a lot of street art scattered everywhere from peoples doors, walls and anywhere else imaginable.
I am well aware that there is so much to tell about Medellin and the incredible sights and the friendly people that live here and I will definitely be doing a more extensive post soon. However, I have to run off now, Steemians and meet up with some local artists who are considering taking myself and a few Spanish students around the neighbourhood tomorrow and talk about their street art. Stay tuned for more adventures and photos!!
Thanks for reading and all the support, Steemit!!
