The Burj Khalifa which used to be known as the Burj Dubai is the tallest building in the world with a height of 829 meters. It is situated next to the Dubai Mall in an area known as downtown Dubai. I have always wanted to visit this building even though i'm not good with heights ! The easiest way to get there is using the Red metro line and getting off at the Dubai Mall stop. My hotel was near the creek so i had to get the green line and then change to the red line a few stops down. You do have to walk a fair way from the station to the tower though as the Dubai Mall is so massive.
You can actually enter the Burj Khalifa from the Dubai Mall or walk to it by the lake where they also have an amazing fountain display. I went quite early in the morning so there was not much of a line.
You have 2 options for tickets "at the top sky" and "at the top" at the top sky is the premium ticket that includes the sky lounge and going to floor 148. The standard ticket only gives access to levels 124 & 125. The premium ticket cost 370 AED and the standard ticket 135 AED. I opted for the standard ticket as i didn't think it was worth the money to go just a little bit higher. you are whisked up in the worlds fasted elevators to the observation decks where you have a stunning view of Dubai.
