What happiness means to you?
I think we agree that happiness is always caused by something: you buy a new car, you are happy; you were promoted at your workplace, you are happy; you changed your old phone for a new Iphone 7, you are happy. Go shopping and buy new clothes makes you happy, isn’t?
I have to tell you something: it all is going to be just a momentary happiness.
And you know that. The things you’ve bought will bring decreasing amounts of happiness as time goes on and you get used to having them around. Buying material things to find your happiness will only give you that excite feeling for a short period of time until you become used to those things. 😮
How about find happiness travelling?
Experiences impacts our brain and the way how we understand every new information. We just are not the same after travelling (and all my travel mates here doesn’t make me lie). All new experiences we are having will make changes on our life and this is last forever. You can get bored for that Iphone and replace it but travel means experience of a lifetime and it cannot be replaced because every travel experience is unique.
I know what you are thinking. You are saying maybe travel is not how you find happiness.
I would say discover happiness is not easy and, of course, the path to happiness may be unique to everyone. It’s fine. It’s just a thought I would like to leave here today after I discovered my happiness travelling the world: I just want to make you think that travel more often and do new things that challenge yourself will directly induce happiness for a long period of time instead of collect things and throw it in the trash when you don’t like them anymore.
You don’t throw a bad experience in the rubbish. Right? You learn from that. So how can you not find happiness investing on experiences and becoming a better version of yourself? It’s win-win.
Go travel and see how you feel. ❤👌
