Hello Steemians,
welcome to the twelth part of our trip on the island of Sardinia.
On our penultimate day on the island of Sardinia we visited the ruins of the castle Castello di Acquafredda.
The castle is perched high up on a cone-shaped hill and lies west of Cagliari.
From the castle you have a good view of a lowland plain, which is ideal for agricultural use.
We reached the car park at the foot of the mountain an hour before the castle was closed.
It took us about 20 minutes to walk up the narrow path to the ruins.
The castle in the beautiful light of the evening sun.
At the foot of the mountain there are further fortifications.
A view of the lowlands.
As it was late in the evening, we were the only visitors in the grounds of the castle. We didn't know when the castle would close, so we didn't stay on top of the mountain too long.
Some more pictures from the descent to the parking lot.
The view to the east, in the background the sea and the industrial plants at Cagliari.
Thank you for reading!
