Here we are again with our second MONDAY FACTS AROUND THE WORLD.
This week we will tell you a few facts about beautiful country Jordan. Located next to Saudi Arabia and Israel. And…… Jordan is the country of the Sisha! (water pipe).
Did you know…….
….That the official currency is the Dinar.
….That Arabic is the official language of Jordan.
….That Jordan is actually located in Western Asia. The capital city is Amman.
….That Jordan is home to the ancient city of Petra. Known as ‘The Rose City’ it is famous for its unique architecture carved directly into the rock fase. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the new 7 wonders of the world.

….That the final scenes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were filmed at Petra.
….That the Dead Sea is the lowest located lake in the world. It lies at 1,378ft (420m) beneath sea level.
….That the waters of the Dead Sea are extremely saline which keeps bathers buoyant. With 34.2% salinity it is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean.
It is extremely!!!
….That it is considered polite to refuse a meal three times here before actually accepting it.
….That they do drink a lot of tea during the day. With a LOT of sugar in it!
Back in the days (and still in some areas) the farmers consumed a lot of energy throughout the day. They got energy from the amount of sugar.
….That Mansaf is Jordan's national dish made of lamb cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and served with rice or bulgur and served in a large Bedouin style platter.
….That Jordanian people are likely to believe that over praising kids can actually bring bad luck and this act is generally avoided.
