Although my family and I visited some few months ago, the unforgettable experience still lingers in my memory. The mountain plateau and the resort could be described as exotic and full of fun so much that I literally had a romance with nature. The journey started with a six hour road trip from the Calabar airport, followed by an 11km drive from the base of the Mountain to the top. Tourists who considered the road trip too risky were advised to travel with a cable car.
This distance is considered the longest covered by any cable car in Africa yet lots of tourists prefer it to the road trip due to the breathtaking view of the vegetation, hills and the resort from the air.
Apart from the interaction with nature, there are other engaging outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, horse riding and golfing. The resort also has a stunning indoor view with well furnished rooms, lounges and bars of international standard.
I cannot forget in a hurry the sight of the clouds touching the peak of the mountains
which also compliment the attractive landscape. The weather is both warm and temperate depending on the month of the year but the best time to visit is usually between October and February when the skies are brighter although it should be noted that the resort is open all year round.
If you appreciate a holiday location tucked away in a serene environment then think Obudu Mountain Resorts.
