This is a view of what you can see in your bike ride near the promenade in Montevideo. The sun falling, nice view, fresh wind and the chance to stop by the beach and sit on the sand to clear your mind. We love it here. The promenade is amazing because it is literally in the city and you can enjoy it by bike, by foot or even if you want go have dinner in any of the restaurants along the promenade. It is a great place because it never closes, you could have your lunch break or even your lunch here sit on the grass for a picnic or buy food to go and have it here along the coastline or sit on a bench with a friend for a chat. It is amazing the effect of peace and freedom that it can transmit. When you live here you start to love it and come regularly. And when you leave Montevideo you even miss it. We have Uruguayan friends that go on vacations to other counries and tell us that inmediatley when they arrive to a new country they start looking in the map for the promenade of that place, the coastline, the water to locate themselves. It is part of this culture.
