If you read text books or take history classes you will be taught that mankind is 7,000 years old when in reality our roots go back much further. It is probable that ancient civilizations grew and flourished with technology and wisdom we don't understand, until they were destroyed around 10,000 BC. Here is some of the strongest evidence to suggest there were many prior civilizations before ours.

1. Machu Picchu in Peru

High on an Andes mountain in Peru is a city that mainstream scientists say was built about 600 years ago as a safe place for the Incas to escape and hide from the Spanish. The truth is, the Incas probably went there to hide from the Spanish, but they didn't build Machu Picchu. They just built on top of a city that was already built by a much older and more advanced civilization. The evidence is in the walls. The lower parts of the walls and the original foundation is built with masterful techniques that cut stones and fit them so precisely that we can't even replicate the process today. The Incas just built on top of the original foundations and they were never able to build like their ancestors.

2. Globeki Tepe, Turkey

A farmer kicked a rock on his land in Turkey one day only to discover it wasn't a rock, it was a massive stone that he uncovered that was connected to the oldest and one of the largest temple complexes known to man. Globeki Tepe is causing even the most ardent mainstream scientist to change their views on our history. The site is the oldest megalithic structure on Earth and is massive. Only 10% has been dug up, but what they found is remarkable. There are tons of carvings of animals on the massive stones and some of the animals don't even exist today. With the age being over 10,000 years old and the size of the structure is proof that we don't know as much about our history as we think we do.

3. Chinese Pyramid Pipes

Around a pyramid found in China’s Qinghai Province are some pipes that lead to a saltwater lake and through caves. These pipes were actually used to move water and other substances long distances and range in all different sizes. The strange part is, these pipes are believed to be 150,000 years old. Some of the elements in the pipe are a mystery to science and are not recognized by our periodical chart today. This is a mystery that is more proof that there were civilizations flourishing around the world prior to our known history.

4. Stone Spheres In Costa Rica

There are hundreds of large, perfectly polished stone spheres that have been found in Costa Rica. Most of the stones were found in the early 1900's as man started to clear away the jungle for development. Some were blown up in search for gold, but many have remained all across the land. They are hard to move and are very, very old with some being dated around 200,000 years ago. The larger ones are perfect and they have been found dozens of miles from a local quarry. This means the people needed to not only know how to make a perfect stone sphere but also move the objects that are so heavy, modern equipment has a hard time moving them. We don't know the purpose, but we know that they are old and beyond the abilities of the Olmecs living in the area during the growth of our civilization.

5. London Rock Hammer, Texas USA

A couple walking discovered some wood sticking out of a rock and they took it home to see what was going on. They broke it open to discover a hammer inside. That's right, they found an ancient hammer imbedded in the rock. When they turned it over to scientists, they were amazed at the results. The rock around the hammer is over 400 million years old and the hammer would need to be older if it was to be stuck in rock. Infact the hammer is over 500 million years old. This is an incredible mystery that could tell us that there have been human or near human civilizations on Earth for hundreds of millions of years.

6. The Sphinx, Egypt

The Sphinx has always been a great mystery for mankind, but it is giving up more secrets now in the form of geology. The water erosion in the area that surrounds the Sphinx is proof that the structure was built over 11,000 years ago. Erosion on the walls surrounding the Sphinx could not have happened in what we know as modern Egypt. It makes the Sphinx much older and also gives credence to the theory that the Sphinx was originally a Lion facing East until a more modern Egyptian pharaohs decided to have his face carved on the lion instead. The erosion proves this site is much older than our historians want to believe.

7. Kailasa Temple, India

An incredible temple in India was built directly out of a mountain and out of a single rock. It was carved from the top down unlike any other site on Earth. Although it is thought to be built for Siva a Hindu goddess around 1,000 years ago, there is little evidence the people in India at that time had the ability to cut and remove over 3,000,000 cubic feet of stone. The stone that was removed hasn't been found and is a mystery by itself. There are places that were carved that man can't fit through. Much like Machu Picchu, the technology to build the site does not match the skill of the people credited for the site. The evidence suggests that the Hindu culture that found the site 1,000 years ago carved designs into the stone to make it their own, but were not responsible for the building of the site. That was likely done by a civilization lost to our history.

These are just seven of the greatest mysteries that prove our civilization has amnesia.
