Just listen to the name: Blue Waters. Picture it for a moment, among the humming pines.
This place is truly off the beaten track, with only a few signs leading to it. You drive down a dirt track along a river for an hour, your head hitting the ceiling of the car with every big stone on the road. It’s only five miles, but the track is too bad to go any faster.
Suddenly, the rocky surface gives way to a softer path, and pines spring up all around you. The river turns from muddy to crystal blue.
And you’re in a forest oasis, with nothing but a few houses perched along the hills, the thunderous river in the valley and peaks, those sharp, jagged peaks of Pakistan scratching their way so desperately into the heavens above.
