Hey there my Steemit friends! Here we are the small town of Puerto Baquerizo on San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos. In this town about 95% of things going are non tourist related activities. Frankly once your off the main street along Shipwreck Bay there are only a few hotels and everything else would be not much different that any other small town in Ecuador.
I really liked this place. One thing that I noticed is that there is virtually no crime here. One way to know this is that there are no security guards in front of any of the biggest stores in town, and there are no lockers to put you bags into either. All through Ecuador any store of any significant size has both of these things to detour theft but here in the Galapagos this does no exist.
The people in Puerto Baquerizo are friendly, peaceful, seemingly happy, and life moves at relaxing slow pace. In these photos below we see kids in school uniforms as they are just getting out of class. We see the taxi area, the local bus that frequents the smaller town of El Progreso, some half built house, an auto mechanic's place of work and more. Now come along and let's see what every day life looks like here in the Galapagos!
