There is a popular tourist attraction in Uzbekistan called the Ark of Bukhara. It is a huge fortress situated in the city of Bukhara. It has been around since the 5th century AD. It is built on the remains of the earlier structure. I am quite impressed by the architecture. I have not been there but it seems like a nice place to visit. Here are some pictures:
