| Hello, friends! | Привіт, друзі! |
| I have a short break, so I will finish my writing about my last trip/weekend in Polissia national reserve. Although this is the north of Ukraine, but there is also spring there! | Маю невелику перерву, тож вирішила закінчити свою розповідь про мою останню подорож до Поліського національного заповідника. Хоч це і північ України, але там теж уже весна! |

| The second night, as it was promised to me, I spent in the warmer house, and even on a bed with two mattresses! So I had a chance to have a good rest. We have heard that in the early morning there is a chance to see a beaver. Thus, in the morning my husband and I went for a walk along the forest paths before breakfast. | Другу ніч, як мені і обіцяли, я провела в теплішому будиночку, та ще й на двох матрасах. Тож шанс виспатись у мене був. Ми чули, що рано вранці можна побачити бобра. Тому зранку перед сніданком ми з чоловіком пішли на прогулянку по лісових стежках. |

| The day before on the excursion, the director of the reserve told us a lot of interesting things about the life and behavior of wild animals. While living in cities, we often pay very little attention to what's happening in nature. | Напередодні на екскурсії директор заповідника розказав нам багато цікавого про життя та поведінку диких тварин. Живучи у містах, ми часто дуже мало уваги звертаємо на те, що відбувається у природі. |

| Luck was not on our side and we didn't see the beaver. But walk around the woods is very pleasant and interesting. You can watch birds and insects. The workers of the reserve set a lot of birdhouses on trees, and birds happily settle there. | Бобра побачити нам не пощастило. Але прогулянка по лісі все одно дуже приємна і цікава. Можна спостерігати за платами та комахами. Працівники заповідника встановлюють на деревах шпаківні для птахів, і птахи охоче там селяться. |

| The main crafts of Polissya residents are berries, mushrooms and honey. When I say "honey", I mean wild honey. | Основні промисли жителів Полісся - це ягоди, гриби та мед. Кажучи "мед", я маю на увазі дикий мед. |
| Wild honey is one that produced by wild bees. Bee keepers set special bee hive "houses" on trees made of a tree trunk. Such a hive is called a "bort'". | Дикий мед - це той, який приносять дикі бджоли. Для сімей диких бджіл на деревах встановлюють вулики, видовбані зі стовбура дерева. Такий вулик називається борть. |

| Such a bee house has to be protected from another lover of honey - a bear. And these methods are quite cruel. | Такий борть доводиться захищати від іншого любителя меду - ведмедя, і ці методи доволі жорстокі. |
| Yes, Polissia still has not only beavers, but also bears, as well as wolves. | Так, на Поліссі досі водяться не тільки бобри, але й ведмеді, а також вовки. |
| The photo below shows the work of the woodpecker. When seeking the insects under the bark, the woodpecker climbs up the trunk, so as not to get a drop of resin that flows from the holes it makes. | На фото нижче видно роботу дятла. Шукаючи комах під корою, дятел піднімається по стовбуру знизу вверх, щоб не втрапити в смолу, яка витікає із зроблених ним отворів. |

| Sunday was a day of departure. The way home was long and sometimes not too pleasant as some roads are really in a quite damaged condition. | Неділя - день виїзду. Шлях додому мав бути довгим і важким, оскільки чеякі участки дороги просто в аварійному стані. |
| Although we have had 2 stops. First was a forest lake with a funny name - "Mushrooms Lake". You may ask what relevance has muchrooms to the lake? Why not Bever Lake or "Carp Lake**? | Але ми все ж зробили 2 зупинки. Перша з них було лісове озеро з дивною назвою - "Грибове озеро". Ви спитаєте, яке відношення мають гриби до озера? Чому не "Боброве озеро" або не "Карпове озеро"? |
| The secret is that even in years of bad harvest of muchrooms, there are always mushrooms near this lake. On the banks around the lake, beavers are equipped with their holes. We saw old holes and shrill trees everywhere - pictures of school textbooks. | Секрет у тому, що навіть в неурожайні роки біля цього озера завжди є гриби. На берегах навколо озера бобри облаштовують свої нори. Ми скрізь бачили старі нори і погризені дерева - картинки із шкільних підручників. |

| The second stop was the valley of Anemones. They grew up like a solid carpet! By the way, did you know that almost all primrose flowers are in the Red Book of Ukraine? | Друга зупинка - долина анемонів. Вони росли суцільним килимом! До речі, Ви знали, що майже всі первоцвіти є у Червоній книзі України? |
| You cannot pluck them, so we just took pictures. | Їх не можна зривати, тож ми тільки фотографували. |

| We arrived late in the evening with a plenty of purchases - honey, dried mushrooms, berries, and we even bought a cake in a local bakery. Inexpensive and very tasty! | Приїхали додому пізно ввечері з цілою купою гостинців: медом, сушеними грибами, ягодами, навіть торт купили у місцевій пекарні. Недорогий і дуже смачний! |
| Home, sweet home! Besides, there is a hot water! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my story. | В гостях добре, а дома краще. До того ж є гаряча вода :) Сподіваюсь, Вам було цікаво читати мою розповідь. |
