Last week, articles about the Chagos Archipelago has interested many of steemians. I publish now a last article concerning the evolution of the legal situation of this archipelago, depopulated 40 years ago, now and whose repopulation is claimed by the Chagossians and the State of Mauritius.
The legal case of the GRC (Chagos Refugee Group) and the British government is in full swing. After calling for the repopulation of the Chagos in Great Britain in 2016, the Chagossians were criticized for the British government's response to the refusal to repopulate and its shameful counterpart of the payment of a compensation premium. The Chagossians denounce the expatriates forced Chagossians their islands, Great Britain must do everything possible to allow the repopulate with dignity.
Before this camouflaged launched by Great Britain, it is with the turn of Mauritius state to turn to the UN denouncing a geopolitical maneuver that allowed the separation of Chagos to the Mauritian state during the decolonization in 1971. This in order to rent the archipelago of Diego Garcia in the United States. This second denial linked to that of the Chagossians was presented by the State of Mauritius to the United Nations in order to obtain the right to present this file to the International Court of The Haye. The vote took place in June 2017 was added in favor of the intervention of the international court. It should be noted that during this vote, the United States and Great Britain voted against, and the major part of the European states, including France, abstained. Curious defenders of human rights ...
The case is therefore held in the hands of a very slow justice whose date is scheduled for January 30 and April 26, 2018, not for a final decision but for deadlines for construction of the file.
The wait may be very long, and it remains whatever the final decision there will be a loser. Either Chagossians will lose the right of return home, or the current Wild Nature Chagos lose its splendor before the return of the Man in these islands. Because we all know human nature, which remains unable to live in respect for Nature...
