#1 THE DAY I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE MOUNTAINS - MY FIRST AVALANCHE

Our first featured post has quite a Chirismas theme, Hive account@cave-man revisits a trip that he went with his parents to the mountain region in Nepal some years ago. The village is surrounded by lovely landscape in the front, and a range of mountains behind. He and his parents hiked 45 minutes towards the mountain to get a much better view of it. The walk gave him the perfect oppotunity to try out his new compact camera that he had recently got. When they arrived at the mountain and was admiring the scene, suddenly they heard a loud bang! The mountain suddenly became all smokey, and there was an avalanche! Lucky they were quite far away and were in no danger.

#2 SOUTH AFRICA – wine tasting in Stellenbosch

If you're looking for some good South African wine recommendations, you should take a look at Hive account@digi-me's post. She went on a wine tasting tour at Stellenbosch in South Africa. This is a hop on hop off tour on a minibus and you can choose which vineyard you want to visit and how much time you want to spend at each one. Sounds like a great idea as you don't have to worry about drink and drive. Hive account@digi-me was particularly impressed by two of the vineyards which changed her opinion of South African wines.

#3 Castle Peles, Sinaia, Romania

Hive account@celestal visits a small town called Sinaia in Romania. He's not easily impressed by things and places, but he found both the town and the nearby Castle Peles rather charming. The castle is 2km away from the train station in town and involves a bit of climbing and stairs to get their. Luckily he arrived quite early in the morning and there were hardly any other visitors, so he wandered around the inner court of the castle admiring the architecture and the interesting statues.
