I've never visited Barcelona, but having read your post- it's now firmly on my bucket list! I love Gaudi's work- I studied it at school- and I remember wondering, like you, how on hearth he found a team of builders and craftsmen to undertake his beautiful, unusual visions and turn them into a reality. Your photographs of the Sagrada Familia are exquisite, and I really really must see it for myself! I can imagine that the colour and the light all play a huge part in the feeling of the place.
Your photos of the German Pavilion also have me intrigued- they stand in almost a complete counterpoint to Gaudi's work, don't they?! I definitely have to see that too- and to me, that place looks like it holds even more calm than the tourist-infested Montserrat!
You've convinced me. An architectural tour of Barcelona is going to have to happen! Thank you for such a wonderful post.
