Hello friends!
It was just a spontaneous trip that my relatives and I had way back October 10 this year. I honestly thought that we were just going around the city since the quarantine was not yet over that time ( I mean the quarantine is even going on up to this day! Hahaha! ). I did not expect that we would cross borders and travel to Bukidnon. Yay!
Prior to that, I thought my day would start great but I ended up slipping on a muddy asphalt. I ended up changing my clothes when I reached my Aunt's house. It certainly was just a walking distance from home.
But before Bukidnon, we had a breakfast at this lovely place, Modesto. It is located at Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City.
The place offers scrumptious American breakfast packed with protein and carbohydrates to its patrons, which are usually cyclists who loves to travel across the nature-filled areas of Cagayan de Oro City and even outside the city.
Gosh! Just by seeing this photo above makes me so hungry right now. I want to go back to this place again and eat a lot of these. It is really not a great idea to post stuff that includes food such as this one.
I should write this one as one of the places Amiel and I need to visit together. I will surely make his pockets hurts, well kidding on that part.
What I love most about this place is its simplicity. It was not really that fancy, but rather it gives a homey experience to everyone because of the plants, flowers, and the mountain that can be seen from behind. I also love the sense of peace the nature has given to me on that day.
Auntie Jean, my mom's sister, took a photo of us while we were at Modesto. I certainly am gaining a lot of weight when community quarantine was implemented across the country. Well, what matters now is that I am still alive. Haha!
Off to Bukidnon!
By the way, October 10 marks the birthday of my good aunt, Auntie Fe. We have not seen her in awhile because she was not able to come home from her work in Malaybalay, Bukidnon. It was then when we were heading downtown when Auntie Belen decided to call her and told her that we would visit her in Bukidnon. I really laughed out loud because it was so obvious that Auntie Fe just woke up. I told them all, I bet that when we call her back, she would be shocked that she agreed on the idea that we would be visiting her.
It only took three hours for us to arrive in Malaybalay City. When we arrived in my Auntie Fe's place, I instantly jumped from the truck and headed to my Auntie's room to look for some clothes to wear because I already used one and I have thought that the short trip would be a short vacation.
Along the way, we decided to visit this ridge but unfortunately, we all got lost. Like we were really lost that we passed over the place and that we were near the border of CARAGA. This was because the guy the we asked, whom we thought knew where the place is located was not really familiar.
We headed then back for few kilometers until we arrived near the venue. Since it was near a ridge, we knew that detours such as this one would happen.
On another note, we got to ask someone else and that person gave us the proper directions. We just found out that some of locals were not in good terms with the owner of the place that is why some of them would give wrong directions.
Before arriving to the said destination, we need to past over this raft and it was such a fun experience. It was a bit pricey though because we need to pay 200Php every time we pass this body of water.
When we arrive, we were dismayed that it was close. We just realized that we need to make a reservation. But we just made use of our time and of the place. We went to the spillway and decided to eat our snacks since we were all hungry by the time we arrived.
Truly, it was a great experience. I could not say it was a picnic. We had some sweets, fruits, bread, drinks, and a lot more.
Of course! We also took a lot of photos along the way. By that time then, we decided to stay in RR, a resort which was located in Maramag. We really wanted to eat, relax, and enjoy the place instead of being cramped inside the truck.
It has been like 3 years ago when we were able to visit this place and had a short vacation like this one. There were a lot of changes already and I had no regret of being with them on this trip.
We had grilled food and some ramen for our late lunch. It was so fine after being able to have a quick dip in their pool. We were not scared though that we may catch covid because there were certainly few people around including the caretakers.
Our first day had been so amazing! Please like this post for part two. Have a great day everyone! :)
Lots of Love,
Johanna Gail
