The southern beaches are the most popular ones in Da Nang, Vietnam. My Anh Beach and My Khe Beach are located here.
A lot tourists and expats alike like to stay around this area as it's practically on the side of the beach.
There are a number of accommodations ranging from budget to high end. There are also a number of local and touristy restaurants around. For street food, try exploring this stretch of road at night. The food stalls at night are quite good.
The beach area itself is quite long and you can find a variety of activities to do, from sports such as volleyball, soccer, parasailing, etc. If you want to swim, make sure to follow those signs that specifically says which areas are safe to swim as tides can be dangerous. There are quick acting lifeguards though so that's a plus and I've seen them rescue tourists a couple of times.
Also, try catching a glimpse of the local fisherfolks as they set out to sea using their circular boats. Just walk around My Khe Beach in the afternoon.
About the road, there are some traffic here, however, it's very manageable. The challenging part when driving on this road is when tourist buses come in hoards!
On this video, there's virtually no traffic. As long as you avoid the usual peak hours and take note of local holidays this road is good.
So, join me as I cycle this scenic stretch of road.
Video will also show street food snacks of roasted pigeon, eggs, sugarcane juice, banh mi bread for a total of 85.000VND ($3.74USD).
