What is the most beautiful city in your country?
In Bulgaria we have a lot of beautiful cities, but definitely the most beautiful is Veliko Tarnovo. I was born and raised in this city, but every time when I walk its streets, I enjoy its boundless beauty. Yesterday the temperature was low
-8 Β°C / 14 Β°F, but I wanted to do a winter walk.
I started the walk in the old part of the town, where you can actually enjoy the beautiful views.
The snow has not yet melted.
I was wearing formal shoes and I slipped a lot.
Yesterday was Sunday and a lot of cars passed by.
In fact, many pods could be seen.
It can also be seen that the Christmas decorations have not been removed in most places.
This is the famous street "Samovodska". It is popular with a variety of craft shops located on it.This summer, if there is no more coronavirus, I will show it to you. Many things can be seen there.
Veliko Tarnovo is a city known for its many hills and steep streets.
Going down this street is definitely an adventure.
Of course, almost all the shops that are on it offer souvenirs such as cards or traditional musical instruments or clothing.
Definitely one of the most distinctive parts of this part of town are the artwalls.
They depict historical facts. For example, these are the "Π’he Asen dynasty" who ruled a medieval Bulgarian state between 1185 and 1280.
From there in the distance you can see their monument.
It's quite impressive. We often go there with friends because it is a wonderful place to drink beer while enjoying the view.
It is quite cold there at the moment, as it is quite close to the river.
This wall was recently renovated.
It is time to note that it depicts events in Bulgarian history for centuries, in which some countries did not exist at all.
Although it was quite cold, the sun was shining and that helped me take these beautiful pictures.
Here comes the moment for my favorite panoramic view!
All tourists who visit Veliko Tarnovo associate the city with this panoramic view.
After spending enough time there and thinking about my things, I headed to the city center. Again, I want to say that I like to see Bulgarian flags.
In front of the municipality is the most important monument in the city, called "Mother Bulgaria".
It is dedicated to those killed in 5 wars - the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878), the Serbo-Bulgarian War (1885), the Balkan Wars (the First and Second Wars, 1912-1913), and the First World War.
It was an exciting walk.Charging emotionally and mentally.
If you ever have a trip to Bulgaria, do not miss the opportunity to spend a day in Veliko Tarnovo. It is located only 3 hours drive from the capital Sofia.
I hope you liked my post :) Stay positive!
