Good evening all. I hope you're doing well. This time I'm sharing with you our amazing hike experience where we climbed Batalegala mountain. The Kadugannawa Pass is one of the most memorable places on the Colombo-Kandy road. Anyone wandering through Kadugannawa, or staying in Kadugannawa, will remember a mountain that has a very unique shape to it. It is a mountain shaped like Sigiriya.
Batalegala is located in the Aranayaka Divisional Secretariat in the Kegalle District. The height of the Batalegala rock is 540 feet. It took about half an hour to get to the top of the rock from the foot of the mountain.
We were climbing a difficult road with stone steps. At the top of Batalegala is an open environment with bunches of mana plants and a small abandoned temple. There are several natural caves in the vicinity of the temple. One of these caves has water that can be used.
It seems like oldest but recently not used. If someone try to make night camping there, I recommend these land better for be protect from lightening. There are old Buddhism bell, Buddhism sign and old pagoda protected yet.
We climbed up through slippery stone hill. We never used alcohol other drug when we hike big or small mountains. Because we know our mind and fitness need to keep positive for final achievement. If someone's feet slipped down speedy his or her life was finished or broke every parts of their body. But such stronger experience we got.
Spread over a large area and we went all the way to the top of the mountain. Each end gives you different views.
The view from the top is absolutely beautiful. Winds are very strong at the top, so be careful.
This beautiful rock in Kadugannawa is spectacular when viewed from Kadugannawa. Standing as a giant among the other floating mountains, this monarch is said to be proud of Senkadagala. Those days I worked like as field officer. So I traveled everywhere our company site's provided. So, after my passing through Kadugannawa, I had the impression that one day I had to cross Batalegala. So finally I achieved my dreamy goal.
The top of the Batalegala is almost flat. So from a distance, it looks like Sigiriya. We could see green area everywhere. Sri Lanka has most wonderful places. I visited only few places there. I created dream already for go around my country where I never visited. I'm following some travel guides for seek perfect places with guidelines for be safe much better. We want to care about each others. Finally we started to go down from top of Batalegala mountain. We never put any non decaying items direct to the environment. Thanks for visiting.
