I've lived in Finland for all my life and yet there are a lot of places I haven't been to. I'm on a mission to travel inside Finland for as much as I can. We have some really cool places and exotic things in here if you make a little effort to get there. And you kind of have to have a car, getting anywhere, other that the cities, without a car is so time consuming, and actually impossible quite often.
We had a free weekend with my bestie and finally decides to head to the most southern city in Finland, Hanko, and along the way, this old village called Fiskars. I have now decided that I want to move to Fiskars, which I now call Narnia. I fully did not know that Finland has parts where the nature is this green and luscious, not just coniferous forest like we have here up north. Fiskars has a long history of handcrafts, especially ironwork, and there are lots of little shops where you can see and buy handcrafts. We only visited for a day so we didn't have time to see everything.
I'm so sad I only took a 35mm lens with me, it was pretty limiting in terms of getting a good view of these places.
Here is a little map showcasing where in the Finland we were.
Move on to the very very very windy Hanko. It is supposed to be an amazing summer city, but as it happens, EVERYWHERE else in Finland, the whole weekend was sunny and warm, Hanko, not so much. But we had fun exploring the shore, some sandy beaches and a lot of rocks and cliffs we climbed up and down for hours.
Whiu, this was a long one, but isn't that what gets the most rewards here? ;)
I leave you with a sunset photo I took from the window of the apartment we were staying. Hope you had a lovely weekend and I'll see you soon, with self portraits, I promise. I just wanted to SHARE something different from my life.
Edit: I had misspelled the word travelling (missing one L) and tried to edit it but steemit is fucking stupid and the first tag can't be edited. Insert a lot of Finnish swear words.
