I live in India and I'm a proud Indian. India is the place where one of the most ancient civilizations started. We contributed zero to mathematics. One of the seven Wonders of the World is in India. India is home to many languages which has a history of more than 1000 years. These are a few reasons why India stands tall among other countries of the world.
For a traveler or tourist, India is an experience, a place to gain wisdom and to share and grow your knowledge. For a traveler it is a place where he or she gets to taste a range of delicacies and spicy food, whose flavors vary from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
The best experience a foreign tourist can have in India is that every 200 - 500 km, there is new land waiting with a different language or a dialect and with this change comes a whole new form of culture, past and climate. Get ready to pack your bags for adventure and snow at Kashmir, Leh and Ladakh, beautiful islands of Andaman showcasing their untouched nature, ethnicity with culture, monuments, waterfalls, museums, palaces, valley of peaks of the western and the eastern ghats, the great Indian safari at the tropical evergreen lush wildlife of the Sundarbans, the great Indian camel ride at the Thar desert, the wonderful mighty rafting at Arunachal Pradesh, fun party at Goa, visiting temples in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, sunset at Kanyakumari, wildlife at Kaziranga, visiting majestic Bengal tigers, lions in Gir forests, elephants in Thekkaddy and the list is pretty much endless.
If I could explain India as a country, this paragraph from the internet would definitely suffice:
Can you describe the eternal pleasure in words? Can you describe breeze in paragraphs? Can anyone write on the crimson red of the rising sun and the colorful filtered rear image in the waters of the river? How would one feel to live, eat, shop, sleep and even make love on waters in a house boat? Can anyone find the desert trails along with the icy glaciers in one single country beside the evergreen rain flood areas, beneath which many lagoons flourish? Where else can one find tradition going side by side with technology? Can you think of a place where women are treated as the ultimate source of energy, much above their male counterparts ? Where else even the virgin, unmarried little girls are wished with the term 'maa' meaning mother? Where the host loves to keep the guest in warmth, selflessly sleeping in the wet jute as he or she believes that guests are gods? Where people worship even the animals, forget the animals, even stones are treated as the source of energy. India has been the oldest of civilizations yet the youngest. The epitome of wisdom, yet the modest. Actually, none can describe India in words, it is not a land to write about. It is nature's maternal love bestowed upon us that one can only feel, cherish, love, admire and adore but can never write about.
Our culture has taught us two very import things which I think everyone should know and practice:
"Athithi Devo Bhava" (meaning : guest should be treated as god) and "Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam" (meaning: World is one family).
