Dear Steemit friends and followers,
Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, however, I will make a little exception as I will show you one of the most beautiful cities of Poland, our northern neighbors, the magnificent city of Wroclaw.

Located on the River Oder in Western Poland, Wroclaw is the fourth largest city of the country with a population of approximately 640,000.
One of the most important and charming Polish cities, Wroclaw was founded as early as in the 10th century and its more than a 1,000-year old history is full of notable events of all kinds. Wroclaw has been a part of many different countries, kingdoms, republics and regimes, which has made it a city of remarkable cultural richness and diversity.

The historic center of the city is brimming with impressive architectural pieces such as the Old Town Hall and the St. Elisabeth Church. Visitors of Wroclaw can choose from a wide range of places and activities with the most popular ones being the Wroclaw Zoo and Oceanarium, the Wroclaw Olympic Stadium, the Sky Tower (skyscraper), the Wroclaw Opera, the National Museum and much more.

Known for its growing student community, Wroclaw is also home to numerous shopping centers, cinemas, theaters, clubs and vibrant nightlife.
There are several routes connecting Prague and Wroclaw with the shortest one usually taking some 3 hours of driving so the Polish city can make a day-trip destination from the Czech capital, however, due to the enormous places of interests to visit there, I recommend to spend at least 2 or 3 days there.
Please feel free to check out some of my other recent posts.
