This post is a combined treefriday and featheredtuesday contribution on a Saturday. As I suspected nest building was currently happening in my magnolia shrub I could not help but take the opportunity capitalising with this post idea.
Amongst all the good reasons for trees bird nesting has to be on top of the list.
My creative idea came to me as I crept up and took a shot yesterday. There has been so much busyness and extra willywag tail noise going on I just had to investigate. What do you think? Is it the start of a nest?

It looks like the beginning of a nest doesn't it? We had two willywag tails nested in the magnolia tree a couple of years ago and I have to say that these gorgeous little birds became bomb diving protective parents once the eggs were laid. Check out the demon eyes of one of them as it sat on the next. They made any gardening under the tree nigh on impossible. But when the look out willywag tail was away I built up enough courage to quickly snap a pic.
They make formidable foes, check out the demon eyes!

Willywag tails are very cute little black and white birds with wagging tails with lovely singing but they are very messy leaving their messages behind during feeding times.

Cheers and blessings
