Hi Steemians
Keeping with the jungle theme, and to compliment my latest travel post I have decided to go a little hollywood today with this remarkable expression of nature vs civilisation!
Ta Prohm aka “The Tomb Raider Temple"

This Mahayana Buddhist monastery/university is one of the only temples that can be seen at the Angkor complex which has been left to let nature run its course, and its made a pretty spectacular scene.
There are two main species of tree that have consumed the temple however sources disagree on their identification. The larger is either the silk-cotton tree (Ceiba pentandra) or thitpok Tetrameles nudiflora [Dehra Dun 2008], and the other is either the strangler fig (Ficus gibbosa) or gold apple (Diospyros decandra) [Freeman and Jacques].
And yes… its nicknamed the tomb raider temple for a reason!!!
