This man is running for governor of Colorado and I am considering supporting him.
"Every election cycle, we hear politicians promising to 'strengthen our economy,' but too often what we actually get are vague platitudes instead of real plans. We need real, bold, concrete steps to build an economy that works for people of all backgrounds." 4/15/2018 Jared Polis.

I've been looking for a doorway to write about "government" issues. There are some important things I would like to address publicly! So I've been kicking some of this around in my mind recently. Among them ... a major solution to environmental policy: Serious look at recycling. Standardized packaging, to make reuse and recycling easier, as well as to put all competitors on a level playing field to protect consumers and fair pricing. Also it has been showing up on Facebook recently that many countries are finding constructive uses for plastic trash - especially in the construction of roads!! (If losing fossil fuels is on the agenda and it definitely needs to be, we need to find constructive replacements for the things we need them for!). I think we need to start looking at trash as a resource. I've been saying for years that someday we may wind up mining our landfills. I can say more about this another time. Not to get sidetracked.
So something I was thinking about this afternoon, with regards to the economy - I was triggered by Mr. Polis' statement and I've been watching him more closely because he is very radically in favor of expanding the legal marijuana industry, especially regarding industrial hemp (YAY!) Again, I am aware that "we" are at a major reset point in all things. See recent astrology reading for Friday the 13th, also We're Definitely Not in Kansas, Anymore Toto (about "the Island").
I think we need to start by looking at our economy on a very foundational level. What would we like to see and what can we reasonably expect to create? In terms of change. We need to think about long term right solutions and a system that makes sense, that covers everyone's needs. Just as I've been telling Bian for so long. Whatever is done needs to be done for EVERYONE. Fair and common ground. No more special interests. If you do what is best for everyone then you are ALWAYS doing what is best for yourself.
This afternoon, it occurred to me.
We need to structure the basis of income in our economy on the idea of each and every family or lone individual, being able to live on a SINGLE INCOME.
That's right. Think about it.
My thought on this has been the same for years now. I think it would greatly benefit our society to be able to afford a greater quality of life on less money. Not more money.
"The only way to combat greed, is to destroy the incentive for wealth." - Economist Milton Friedman
This would probably take a massive cut in inflation!! Things like, the real estate market, which has been artificially propped up over the last 20 years primarily by special interest and Republican policy. Also wages in some cases, like where people get paid an outrageous amount of money for things that are not valuable enough to justify it. AND consider a way to forgive (all?) debt. Balancing opposites to create change. I feel that we also need to consider alternate forms of payment or currency, along with barter economy practices and trade.
The benefit of a shift like this, and the GOAL, in my mind. We need to shift our values! We need to recognize how valuable our TIME is. Consider a safe economy where only one parent has to work in order to support the family. It doesn't matter whether it is the husband or wife!! Even two part time incomes, equaling a single full time income. The point is, if you have children, you need to spend time raising them. I would hope to see more homeschooling families with such a shift, but ... I think education policy needs a massive overhaul as well. Another subject I would like to write about, from my experiences from within the system and from outside of it. There are so many changes we need to consider making for our new society's salvation.
