Proteccionistas de animales en Brasil se habían ofrecido para ayudar a Ruperta, sin embargo el Gobierno venezolano se negó.
The Ruperta elephant, approximately 48 years old, died at midnight on Monday, an animal that was an icon of the Caricuao zoo, located in Caracas.
Authorities of the National Institute of Parks (Inparques) assured that he died in his place of refuge. His story was known to all Venezuelans due to the severe levels of malnutrition he suffered.
It should be noted that five days ago, the elephant had a strong relapse.
Specialists conducted the necessary review and said it was "stable" and in "constant" observation. They stated that the relapse is the result of a first incident, which caused a fracture in the cartilage of his left ear, which would lead to difficulties in his balance.
Animal protectionists in Brazil had offered to help Ruperta, however the Venezuelan government refused.
Before this, an inhabitant of Caricuao told El Pitazo that "La bella Ruperta deserved to spend her last years quiet. Definitely, Ruperta is a beautiful memory of our childhood, for which today we are adults and grandparents ".
Like her, also other animals
and people suffer or even die in this economic crisis, caused only by bad government, while the people die of hunger, they eat, they enjoy and they even make fun of the people, I have seen it and I know that I speak.
