We flew to Punta Cana from Paris, where we walked 12-15 km daily... and hoped for a quiet beach holiday in the Dominican Republic ... but ...
Our hopes for relaxed rest were broken due to the enormous territory of the stunning hotel Barcelo Bavaro, approximately 22 hectares! ))
Of course, we did not have to complain ...
There was everything: a snow-white beach, endless pools, a water park, golf, tennis, squash, bowling, night club, restaurants for every taste and even a casino!
If we add to this that all this is included in the cost of living, it becomes clear that we spent a chic vacation in a beautiful company of friends!
A couple of days relaxing in the hotel, we realized that a passive holiday is not for us: Fishing in the open ocean, jeep safari with a visit to the reed and coffee plantations, and then "march" to the mountains for 500 km to the northwest of the island is what happened with us in the following days ...
On the way to the mountains we visited the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santa Domingo, the city founded by the brother of Christopher Columbus.
There we saw the sights of the new world, bought souvenirs, cigars, coffee and products for cooking pilaf (Uzbeks everywhere have to cook pilaf) :)
In the mountains we swam in the waterfall, descended the mountain river in an extreme 12 kilometer rafting, caught fish, sang songs, lit a fire and played a crocodile and a mafia ...
it was grandiose! Emotions went off, tropical rain made us rejoice as little children.
Thus, I advise everyone who is going to visit Dominican Republic not to limit themselves with a beach rest, but to travel around the island. You will not regret it!
