Hello people of HIVE, how are you today?
On my side, the good weather is finally back! The temperatures have become really pleasant, perfect for going outside and enjoying some fresh air. The rain has stopped, and honestly, it feels great. Even though it doesn’t change my daily routine that much right now since I mostly work indoors, the sunshine is always a big boost for morale. Just having more light and warmth brings extra energy and motivation, and that’s always welcome.
In about two weeks, I’m planning to get a small PC for around 50 euros. The goal is simple: to run my bots 24/7 without interruption. At the moment, since my main computer is also my personal PC, the bots often get paused or don’t fully run in the background. It’s far from ideal and limits their overall efficiency.
So investing in a dedicated machine, even a very modest one, seems like the right move. For this kind of usage, there’s no need for a powerful setup—a second-hand PC will be more than enough. The shop selling refurbished machines even confirmed that for lightweight bots, high performance isn’t necessary. That works perfectly for me since I don’t plan to use it for gaming, watching videos, or anything else. It will simply sit in a corner, connected to my router, doing its job non-stop.
I’m also not planning to run a “witness” on it, although the idea has crossed my mind. Maybe someday, if I have the budget to invest in the proper hardware. I’ve already looked into how it works, and it doesn’t seem overly complicated to set up, but it still requires a solid and reliable machine. That’s clearly a different level compared to my current project 😄
For now, I prefer to keep things simple, efficient, and well-suited to my current needs. One step at a time!
