Lots has been happening on the Golden D Homestead over the last seven days...
- steemit got a little kick in the booty preventing us from posting, commenting and more- so I took this little hiatus to recover, go to appointments and re-organize ALL my posts
- I did start posting on Weku- still giving it some thought and hoping it helps to contribute to my overall future plan of financial security one day
- I opened a SMOKE account (https://smoke.io/@goldendawne) and am loving being able to post here about my cannabis
- Garden tear up has started
- We got our 1/4 of a cow in the deep freeze
- WE HAVE LUFFA GOURDS!

So let's see...
I'll forgo discussing the HF20 issues, the Weku and SMOKE postings and move right on into talking about the garden tear-up, the luffas and the cow pickup that has over-flowed my 19.6 cu.ft deep freezer.
Yeah. we now have 197-lbs of beef (well, less the three Porterhouse steaks we ate for dinner last night) in our deep freezer! SO WONDERFUL being set for a few months with this meat. I spoke with the butcher this morning (I called her because I'm having fantasies about bacon) and asked to be put on the waiting list for any extra pigs that come in.
The BIGGEST Surprise Of All
After thinking I didn't grow the luffa gourds correctly (not having trimmed off the first blossoms- which are the male
ones), imagine my surprise when the other day a church member came over to tear up my peppers, green beans and cucamelon plants only to discover the luffas are here!
I have three luffas that I know I'll be able to use to make my homemade soap over the winter now.
Tomorrow someone is coming over to help me with some household chores and I'm planning to ask her to get the luffas harvested for me.
I'll let them dry out then peel away the outer skin and let them dry out. I'll do a video on this process to share
