Last Sunday we escaped to the country and visited some interesting places.
We headed to Lovech district we’ve been before but this time we included some interesting places on the route.
Near Troyan we visited Oreshak village where we were impressed by its art museum. The area is known for its ceramic shops and there were some masterpieces we enjoyed.
Next stop was Troyan Monastery. It’s named after the city of Troyan which was named after the Roman emperor Trajan. The monastery was founded in 16 century and is the third largest monastery in Bulgaria.
We stopped in Lovech, the district capital for a brief walk and late lunch.
On our way back home we were surprised by the magnificent sunset.
