The Ancient Town of Perge
This is our second time visiting the ancient town of Perge.
We were here about 15 years ago. At that time, there were no descriptions. It was a deserted land.
There are many signs and maps to show us the way around the site.
We see that the archaeologists have been busy at work to develop this archaeological sites for tourists.
Everything is very different now.
The Great City Walls
Here are the great walls that used to surround the city.
Behind here are the wall towers.
The Great Southern Basilica
The Main Street
You can tell that Perge used to be a very prosperous city in the ancient world.
Quite a few remains have been left behind for the archaeologists to show us what the ancient city used to be.
You can pass through the arches of the Roman Gate to see the old ruins buildings.
There is still ongoing excavations that are in progress.
I will definitely come back here to see more ruins being discovered.
