I feel like this is a really common question in our society today. Bills stack up, debt is collected, relationships are strained and people ultimately seem to become disappointed in you. It seems like everything in your life has the ability to fall apart all at once.
Your Mindset
Don’t be defeated. Don’t act defeated. Don’t think defeated. Bad things happen to all of us. I want you to change your mindset about these hardships.
Change your mindset to this: these hardships are tests. They’re hurtles that are being placed in front of you by the universe. In order to make progress in life, you have to leap over these hurtles.
Sometimes life will place dozens of hurtles in front of you, taller than what you can even imagine to be possible for you to jump over. You have to stare these hurtles in the eyes and stay focused on the mission.
The Mission
The mission… Your mission.
Your mission is to rise up to these challenges and stare them dead in the eye. Your mission is to continually practice until you become good enough to jump over the hurtles that lay in front of you. That is the mission that matters.
If you have a pile of debt and that hurtle lies in front of you and you don’t know how you can possibly jump over the hurtle, then you need to sit down with a pen and paper or your laptop and start writing down your priorities.
What things will you have to accomplish in order to jump over this hurtle of debt? What are the top 10 things that you need to do? Do you need a second job? Do you need to ask for a raise? Do you need to cut down your expenses? Make a list of priorities and then execute.
Challenges
Challenges are always hard to face. The good thing about them is that we all face them and they ALWAYS make us better - if you allow them to.
If you whine about challenges and say that life dealt you a bad hand, then you’ll always be someone who has a completely defeated mindset… Someone who likely never makes it anywhere significant in life because you weren’t willing to pound the pavement and put in the work that is required to reach out and grab your trophy.
Always face challenges with the mindset that these challenges are what provide an environment for you to progress in life - to get better and to make significant change.
If you face challenges with this mindset, then you will smile at them. You will even thank these challenges for presenting themselves. This is how I look at life and hardship.
