In a previous post I wrote a quote from The Way to Wealth. I found a few more nuggets that I think will be a great motivation for you and for me on this Monday morning!
“Industry pays debts, while despair increaseth them.”
"Industry" can mean anything that you call your main "career" or chosen craft of work.
If you continually work hard to build your skills, your reputation, your knowledge and your overall prowess in your given craft, then you will succeed. You will do well financially and emotionally knowing that you are successful in your craft.
If, however, you constantly drift in despair over the lack of results that you have, then there will be no work being put in and thus, no results to ever speak of. This is like a spiral downwards.
If you constantly feel despair over a lack of results, then a lack of results will continue to ensue because of your despair. It's a nasty circle, but one that I think many people get themselves caught up in.
“Then plow deep, while sluggards sleep, and you shall have corn to sell and to keep.”
I always hear successful people talk about how they wake up early in the morning and work hard while their competition is asleep.
They talk about the hard work that pushes them to the top... And then keeps them there.
Working hard is not something that is a "maybe" factor of success. It's an essential factor. You can't have success without working hard at something. Without being completely obsessed with something, you won't do whatever it takes to succeed.
You should work hard at your craft so that you have some "corn to sell and to keep"... a.k.a. so that you have some money to buy the necessities as well as some of your wants. The keep part of that equation is so that you have some additional money to save and invest in your financial freedom!
Work hard today, plow deep, wake up before the competition... whatever it takes. This is how you get a better tomorrow!
What are you working hard at?
