According to Mack archive, approximately 137,000 B-model trucks were built from 1953-1966, including single axle, tandem axle and tri-axle in every possible application. The B-model was developed in the late 1940's as a successor to Mack's popular L-series. The B-models were modern and aerodynamic in appearance. They were extremely durable and serviceable, and well regarded by truck buyers and operators. This particular B61 was purchase new in 1963 by Oil Transport, Inc., in Waterbury, Connecticut. The tractor, along with the company , was later sold to R.J. Guerrera, Inc.; who in turn sold the tractor locally. In 1985, Dick Guerrera purchased the truck and restored the truck. In 1992, this truck made its debut at an American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) chapter show in Greensboro, NC, where it took home both the People's Choice and Exhibitor's Choice trophies. Iowa 80 Trucking Museum acquired the truck in 2011.
